served buffet-style on the far side of the main
conference room. We have six hot meals: Friday
dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sunday
breakfast and lunch. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections which will be
served.
Food: Harbin has both a restaurant and a
market where you may purchase your own meals. In
addition, the Blue Room Cafe offers snacks, coffees and
teas. And in the summer, our Poolside Cafe has
light meals and drinks.
Venue
Our
venue is the Conference Center at Harbin Hot
Springs. The maximum capacity for our conference is 200
people because that's all the caterer's can
handle.
Accommodations
Harbin offers workshop participants the following
overnight options:
A.
Outdoor camping: Bring all your own equipment. There
are tent areas to camp along the creek or in the meadow.
In a number of places there are tent platforms.
B. Bring a pad and sleeping bag to set up your
bed overnight in the workshop building.
C. Dorms & private rooms near the Harbin
Pools: These are available to rent at an additional cost
through the Reception Department. Call 800-622-2477
(from CA) or 707-987-2477.
Fire
Danger
There is a complete fire ban at Harbin. This means no candles,
open fires, campstoves or incense.
Alcohol,
Drugs & Smoking
Harbin is alcohol-and-drug free. Smoking is allowed in
designated areas around the workshop buildings and on the
smoking deck only.
Children
It is generally not recommended that children accompany
adults to workshops. If an exception is desired, ask your
facilitator and he or she can make arrangements through the
Workshops Office.
Parking
& Permits
Register at the Conference Center rather than at the
Harbin Front Gate. So, once you've turned onto Harbin
Springs Road outside of Middletown, after about 3-4 minutes
you'll come to a driveway to the right (the only driveway
you'll see along the road--just before you reach the Front
Gate). This leads into the Conference Center parking
lot; turn in there. If you arrive before 5pm, you may
park your car in the lot without a parking permit and walk to
Mainside to use the pools, if you wish. If you arrive
about 5pm, you may drive your car up the driveway to the back
of the Conference Center and unload; then drive back to the
parking lot and park. You will be given a permit for
your car by your workshop leader, which must be displayed on
your windshield. During the entire time you are here
you must park only in the Conference Center parking lot.
Pets
Pets are not permitted, even if left in cars. Information
on nearby kennels is available from the Front Office.
Phone
Messages & Faxes While You're Here
You may receive phone messages and faxes during your stay
here. They will be kept in the Front Office in the Guest
Mail Box. It will be your responsibility to pick them
up. The phone number is 800-622-2477 (from California)
or 707-987-2477, and the fax is 704-987-0616. There is a
phone in each of the workshop buildings. Your
facilitator can give you the number of the building you will
be in.
Time of Arrival & Departure:
Check-in time to the workshop building is 5pm on the first
day, 3pm on the last day. However, you may come to use the
Harbin facilities any time after 12 noon on the first day of
the workshop and stay until 10pm on the last. If you
wish to stay either before or after these times, you must pay
for these extra days or nights at the Front Gate or Front
Office.
What
to Bring
There are plenty of pillows at the conference center but if
you want to be certain you'll be comfortable, bring your own back jacks and/or pillows.
If you're camping, bring everything you need to be
prepared. You may camp outside or on the seminar floor,
but be aware of the schedule and have your stuff off the floor
in the morning when the conference begins. No candles or
fires are permitted at Harbin Hot Springs. The atmosphere is casual, informative and
fun so wear clothes that are comfortable. Bring
towels, flashlight, footwear for rough terrain, layered
clothing, drinking water (although the water's great at
Harbin), snacks, bathing suit, massage oil,
sheet, towel and be prepared to have fun.
